General Species Information:
Found in the Murray Mallee SA and possibly elsewhere
~9mm Male, larger than usual but still tiny for jewel beetle.
We asked Dr Peter Lang about the rear projections. He replied "The projections are the lobes/teeth of the apical abdominal segment on the ventral side which are not always visible from above. In males (which I think applies here) they are generally more widely spaced than in females."
