| Species: | Pale Wattle Hopper (Dardus sp ES02)| This Photo: | 🔍Dorsal🔎 | Other name: | Dardus Wattle Hopper | General Species Information: Found on Ellura (in the Murray Mallee, SA) and elsewhere ~3.5mm long Notice the emarginate eye around the antennae (underneath the eye). There is a knob like process on it, this is diagnostic for the Eurybrachidae family. Notice the frons (face) is evenly rugose, with no major lumps & bumps; this is diagnostic for the genus. We thought this was D. abbreviatus, but new images have come to light that show a strong white stripe on the side, that ours doesn't have. They are not known from SA either, but only along the East coast. As such, we have lifted our id to genus level. Notice the red body (barely visible under the wings), one of the diagnostics for the species (D. abbreviatus).
