While difficult to see, we've noticed the flecks on the top of the head (in the black) are very variable in quantity and colour.
From white (like here) to yellow.
General Species Information:
Found on Ellura (in the Murray Mallee, SA), the Adelaide Hills and elsewhere
Attractive array of yellow, grey, fawn, black + a red dot. Its monotonous call gets very tedious when raising chicks.
Black crown with usually white, but occasionally yellow streaks.
A red spot on its wings shows up in photos when perched.
