Very social birds often found roosting with close relatives the White-browed Woodswallows. Males have a well defined black patch on their face, with a white edge around the ear. Females have a grey face patch, with a fuzzy edge, bleeding to black between the eyes & beak. They have been known to cross breed with White-browed Woodswallows. Travelling north with the related White-browed Woodswallows in autum/winter, back to SA in spring/summer.
